    1. Bring 550ml water to a boil in a large saucepan over a high heat.
    2. Add 200g brown rice. Cover the pan and reduce the heat to a simmer.
    3. Simmer, covered, for 45 minutes.
    4. Turn off the heat and allow to sit for 15 minutes without removing the lid. Open the pot and fluff the rice with a fork.
