As we head into spring, we’re looking for more ways to enjoy the longer days and brighter sunlight. What’s a better way to spend the day than at a farmers market?
Mountain View Market, a family-run farmers market in Kilkenny, is the perfect weekend destination filled with food and craft stalls and utterly lush views. Running from April 2nd until the end of September, you’ll be able to stock up on fresh produce and support independent businesses from all across Ireland.
Not only is Mountain View Market rich in fruits, veggies, and other delicious goodies – it’s also rich in history. 30 years ago, the market began as a golf course. Throughout the years, it’s turned into a gorgeous countryside estate with a stunning (and award winning!) wedding venue; glamping village; and an impeccable restaurant, The Greenhouse.
Walking around the food and craft stalls, you’ll be surrounded with a variety of foods from baked goods and bubble teas to sushi and bao buns; Belfast-based artisan cheesemongers Tom & Ollie will also be a part of the foodie fun!
There will be cuisines from lots of different countries. Italian desserts from ‘Tiramisu Da Costa Family;’ West African and Caribbean-Trinidadian plates from ‘SoCafro Kitchen;’ and vegan and plant-based eats from New Ross’s ‘Peas & Love.’
We were seriously excited to hear that beyond food, the market will also be hosting vendors with products like dog accessories, soy wax candles, and boho fashion pieces.
