Serves 4
500g sirloin steak, cut into strips
2 tsp cornflour
Black pepper
250ml beef stock
5 tbsp light soy sauce
1 tbsp honey
2 tsp sesame seeds, plus extra to serve
2 garlic cloves, crushed
1 tsp fresh chilli, finely chopped
1 tbsp vegetable oil

- In a large bowl, add the beef strips, one teaspoon of the cornflour and some black pepper. Toss to coat the steak fully.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the stock, soy sauce, honey, sesame seeds, garlic, chilli and the remaining cornflour.
- Heat the oil in a wok over a high heat and cook the steak for two minutes until browned on all sides.
- Add the sauce and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Remove from the heat and serve with boiled rice, green vegetables and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
