Primitive Boards are boards with a mission: these boards are hand-crafted in Sandyford, Co. Dublin, and for every board sold, one new tree is planted.
Owner Radek Mara started the company with the intent to create premium serving and chopping boards so impressive, you’ll never want to serve or work with anything else. Having received one of the boards into the Easy Food office, we can attest to this! The craftsmanship on boards is second to none; they are solid yet elegant, with rich grain and fine details throughout. The chopping board would serve as an eye-catching fixed feature in a kitchen workspace, while the serving boards are ideal for barbecues or small gatherings.
The boards are tested and co-developed by professional chefs for durability and size.
Radek believes that truly sustainable products are only the ones that you don’t have to replace. That is why Primitive Boards only sell pieces they are confident that will last a lifetime; should your chopping board warp or split, they will fix it or replace it free of charge. They also offer free shipping on all boards for delivery in Ireland.
The name Primitive comes from Radek’s childhood nickname “Primitiv“; Radek grew up in a tiny village in the Czech Republic and spent most of that time in the nearby forest building tree houses, carving simple cutting boards and watching wildlife. Years later, Radek turned back to carving wood as a way to focus on creating beautiful, sustainable gifts.
Primitive Boards work with Irish reforestation organisation, Trees on the Land. Every item purchased from Primitive Boards means they can better financially support the organisation; last year alone, they planted 132 new trees.
Radek crafted a board worth €500 as a special Christmas prize for Easy Food readers; for a chance to win this board, just answer the easy question below.
