Airfield Estate in Dundrum, Co. Dublin, has launched Overends Kitchen Farm Shop, a traditional farm shop that offers customers a wide range of produce harvested from Airfield Estate’s farm, gardens and orchards, along with other artisan foods from local producers and suppliers.

Customers can expect seasonal fruit, vegetables and herbs grown on Airfield Estate’s 38-acre farm and dairy products from Airfield Estate’s Jersey milk herd, as well as favourite cupboard staples, fresh baked goods and food cooked from scratch by the Overends Kitchen culinary team.

Customers will also be able to choose from a wide range of local suppliers including breads from organic bakery Bread 41; cheese and crackers from Sheridans; sheep’s cheese and yogurt from Rockfield Dairy; juices from Ballycross Apple Farm; sauces  from White Mausu; Nutshed Peanut Butter; Crossogue Preserves; Cider Vinegar  from Llewellyn’s Orchard; and Second Nature Organic Rapeseed Oils. Customers will also find craft beers from Wicklow Wolf, natural soaps and bodycare from The  Handmade Soap Company and homewares from John Ryan Ceramics.

Luke Matthews, Overends Kitchen Culinary Ambassador says, “Working with the farms and gardens at Airfield Estate makes my life easy — the quality of produce and the passion of the people behind it really shine through. My own philosophy when it comes to cooking and food is very simple — get great produce and do very little to it. At Overends Kitchen, we are very lucky to work with and enjoy produce that  comes directly from Airfield Estate and local suppliers.

“Our hope is to show what a difference good produce makes on the plate and inspire your food choices. And so, the farm shop at Overends Kitchen was born. We want to bring to you the best of what Ireland has to offer and really showcase the many talented people near and far around the island. We’re thrilled to be able to share our experience of focusing on Irish provenance with customers and look forward to welcoming you to  shop the very best of local, organic produce in simply stunning surroundings.”

Coming soon will be Overends Kitchen ‘Dine at Home’, a range of chilled-to-finish meals. The Dine At Home range will be a carefully curated edit of Overends Kitchen’s favourite dishes that are wholesome, seasonal and produced by the Overends Kitchen team of chefs.

Maintaining a positive, sustainable and respectful food ethos is paramount as is the  case with Overends Kitchen Farm Shop which takes its cue from Airfield Estate’s GLAS food ethos: Go with the seasons; Local for produce; Avoid food waste; Sustainably produced ingredients.

Overends Kitchen Farm Shop is open Wednesday to Sunday from 10am-6pm and is located in Airfield Estate, Dundrum, Dublin 14. For more details, see www.airfield.ie.
