Few things measure up to the joy we feel when we’re chowing down on a perfectly cooked and flavoured portion of fresh fish and chips, wrapped up in old newspaper or little brown paper bags. That’s why we were super excited to hear that Hooked has opened a new branch of their seafood restaurants in Barna!
The sister restaurant to the award-winning Hooked on Henry Street, has opened its doors in Galway’s Westend. The restaurant will fit right in with the seaside village of Barna, located on the outskirts of Galway.
Hooked patrons can expect to see some old favourites along with some new menu items too. The menu celebrates all things Galway and in particular the surrounding townlands including the Truskey Tempura Prawns, The Pier Smoked Fish plate, Barna’s Fisherman Broth and Freeport Vegetable Fritters. The world-famous Ali’s Seafood Chowder, Steamed Marty’s Mussels and Hooked Fish Burger and house favourite Fish and Chips are all playing starring roles in Barna.
There is also a welcome addition for those non fish eaters with the Silver Strand Vegan plate with cauliflower florets, chickpeas, roasted peppers and a celery seed dressing — of course the option to add grilled organic salmon is there too! Hooked bakes all of their desserts on site and they have a full range of craft beers, a complimentary cultivated wine list and Galway’s own ‘All About Kombucha’.
Hooked in Barna is open at unit 20, Barna Village Centre. It’s closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and is open on Mondays and Thursdays from 5pm to 10pm and Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 12noon to 10pm.
