Celebrating the start of the official oyster season, The Shelbourne has dedicated the whole month of September to showcase one of the country’s finest natural products.
Served in No. 27 Bar & Lounge daily from 12.30pm, The Shelbourne invites guests to enjoy a five-star celebration of all things oyster with a new daily menu featuring six seafood dishes — each one showcasing the country’s finest selection of oysters.
Highlights include Rockefeller oysters with garlic butter, parsley parmesan and breadcrumbs, Guinness oysters with a warm Guinness sabayon and smoked oysters with creamed and truffled Lusk leeks. A unique experience for guests to The Shelbourne this September will be The Shelbourne oysters which are served in a half shell with Liscannor crab, Dublin Bay prawn and thermidor sauce. Fresh Irish oysters are also served as part of The Shelbourne’s impressive tiered seafood platter which also features Dublin Bay prawns, whiskey cured salmon, Liscannor crab and Guinness bread.
Pair your chosen oyster dish with a pint of Guinness — a classic pairing where the rich creamy head and dry roasted, slightly bitter notes of Guinness and briny oysters forms the perfect combination of salt and savoury. The extensive Champagne menu also provides an excellent variety of houses to choose from to accompany your favourite oyster selection.
Guests to Dublin’s favourite five-star hotel certainly do love their oysters, with over 35,000 of them served at The Shelbourne annually. Available daily in No. 27 Bar & Lounge during the month of September, this might just be the perfect time to plan your visit.
