Darina Allen of Ballymaloe Cookery School has created an online petition to persuade the Government and Department of Education to embed practical cooking classes into the national curriculum for both boys and girls.
“Cooking needs to be a core subject,” writes Darina. “As many of you will know, this topic has been a concern of mine for quite some time.”
Her Uplift petition is gathering momentum here in Ireland, and at the time of writing, has attracted 3,177 signatures out of a necessary 4,000. The petition can be found here; add your signature, share with friends and family and help Darina get practical, useful cookery classes added to the curriculum of our schools.
