In about a week, the whole world will be swamped with red heart-shaped balloons and cheap chocolate boxes.
But if you’re fed up with Valentine’s Day, or choosing not to celebrate it this year, you can always have a fun night out with your gal pals celebrating Galentine’s Day instead!
Never heard of it? Well, Galentine’s Day is on February 13th (yes, the day before Valentine’s) and it’s all about ladies celebrating ladies.
If you’re in Dublin, there are a few venues that have lined up Galentine’s celebrations that’ll make for the ultimate girls’ night.
‘She’s All That’… and more!
If you’re in for proper girls movie night, with lots of popcorn and cocktails Opium is hosting a screening of the 90s favourite She’s All That in their (roofed and heated!) Botanical Garden.
You can sip on delicious popcorn espresso martinis while drooling over 90s heartthrob Freddie Prinze Jr., as he transforms the geeky looking Rachel Leigh Cook into prom queen material.
And what is movie night without popcorn? Of course, there will be loads!
Tickets for this screening include one popcorn espresso martini each and shared popcorn. Click here to book your spot.
And if you’d like to enjoy a pan-Asian dinner before the event, just send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.

‘Ovaries before brovaries’
If you and your gals want to have a fun night out on the town, head on over to NoLIta’s ‘ovaries before brovaries’ event on February 13th. While indulging in some of their authentic Italian dishes, you can sip away on a complimentary Bulmers or Bulmers Rosé.
Dance the night away when DJ Dexy hits the deck at 10pm with plenty of feel-good nostalgic tunes.
Apart from having a good time, you can also be one of 100 women (first come first served) who’ll be gifted a bee bomb so that you can easily plant some bee-friendly flowers, allowing you to support the bee population whilst getting to enjoy some gorgeous flowers.
