Sad news from Marty’s Mussels

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Marty Nee of Marty’s Mussels, Tullycross, in a diving accident on the evening of Saturday, May 28th.

Our Staff Writer, Jocelyn Doyle, visited Marty’s Mussels for a dawn walk of Killary Harbour during the Connemara Mussel Festival at the end of April, and was lucky to learn plenty about mussel farming from Marty’s wife, Catherine Nee, inspiring her Eat Ireland column for our June/July issue [link below].

Jocelyn and all of us here at Easy Food would like to extend our most sincere condolences to Catherine and her family at this terrible time.
