Celebrate 1826 Adare’s birthday in style!

1826 Adare Interior at night

To mark the very important occasion of 1826 Adare’s third birthday, the restaurant hosts an exciting evening of food and fun with guest chef Paul Flynn from multi award-winning Dungarvan restaurant, The Tannery.

On Thursday evening, May 19th, the pop-up birthday party celebrations begin at 7.30 p.m. with raspberry & white peach Bellinis for guests on arrival, and a selection of delicious canapés designed by 1826 Adare’s chef (and birthday boy!) Wade Murphy and his kitchen team.

A selection of snacks showcasing the distinctive and delicious 1826 Adare style, canapés will include spiced pork scratchings with burnt apple purée, treacle-braised beef cheek croquette with Treaty Beer mustard, and cured & marinated salmon with avocado & wasabi crème fraîche.

Then dinner begins, featuring some of chef Paul Flynn’s seasonal takes on his favourite Irish ingredients. A four-course tasting menu, dishes on the celebratory birthday menu include a wild garlic velouté, with lobster cream, potato, lobster and spring onion fritter, and Paul’s legendary, melt-in-the-mouth slow-cooked beef short rib, with Vichy carrot, and parsley shallot salad.

Wade and Elaine Murphy opened 1826 Adare in May 2013, in its rustic cottage setting in one of the country’s prettiest and most picturesque villages in lovely Co. Limerick. With Wade’s cooking skills and Elaine’s management and hospitality experience, the marriage of the two backgrounds has lent itself perfectly to the award-winning establishment that they have both worked so hard to create.

Named after the year the first Lord Dunraven built this thatched cottage, the fine food that offers freshness, simplicity and seasonality, paired with its chic country décor, have made 1826 Adare justly popular since the day the couple opened the doors, three years ago.

Chef Paul Flynn and his wife and business partner Máire are an Irish food success story too, another power couple who together have made an extraordinary success of their restaurant, townhouse and cookery school in Dungarvan since they opened their doors to customers for the first time in 1997.

Having Paul and Wade cook together to celebrate 1826 Adare’s third birthday seems appropriate therefore on many different levels, and is an opportunity to experience two fine chefs and friends cooking at their best, and the perfect way to mark the significant third birthday of 1826 Adare. The celebratory tasting menu with Paul Flynn costs €55 per person, and for reservations call 061 396004 or email info@1826adare.ie.
